Recruitment days assess whether you look consistent, comfortable and prepared. The details below are widely expected in professional aviation settings.

• Clothing that fits well, is clean, pressed and unobtrusive in colour.
• Hair arranged neatly and securely, so it stays in place through a long day.
• Discreet, well-maintained make-up where worn, and clean, tidy nails.
• Comfortable, polished closed shoes you can stand and walk in for hours.
• Minimal jewellery and fragrance — cabins and interview rooms are shared spaces.

Presentation is also behaviour

Assessors observe posture, eye contact, how you greet people at reception, and how you treat other candidates during breaks. Consistency across the whole day matters more than any single element of appearance.

Practical preparation helps: try your full outfit for a few hours before the day itself, and bring a small kit for repairs and touch-ups.

Health, sleep and stamina

Assessment days are long. Sleep, hydration and a real meal beforehand affect how you present far more than most candidates expect. Treat rest as part of your grooming preparation.
